Lately

Oh, just a little glimpse into my life these days!  This is the handy work of Ava and Knox one afternoon when they were supposed to be napping! They literally took out every single thing in my drawers!  Oh these kids!  Some days are harder than others!

The day after the kids birthday party we went to Tulsa with Gigi and all of our friends to see Sesame Street Live!

Girls Night

We met Madeline and her mommy one night during Ava's birthday week for dinner and pedicures!  The girls had so much fun!

We went to dinner at Shogun!  I love the look on Madeline's face when the guy lit the fire!  A was busy covering her eyes! 

Ava got a birthday Sunday and they turned on the music and sang her Happy Birthday! She was so excited and felt so special!

Easter Festivities

The trips birthday week was so busy this year!  We had activities every day! 

Easter party and egg hunt at school!  The kids were so excited! 

After school we met our friends for sweet treats at Rick's!  The kids loved picking out their own treat and watching the ladies decorate cakes! 

They loved looking at all of the fancy cakes! I think A, B, and K are more excited about their birthday cakes then anything! That's all they talk about! 

After Rick's we stopped at the mall to have our picture made with the Easter Bunny! The line was so long so we had to ride the merry go round to pass the time!

We made a quick stop by the Nabholz to see the turkey Nick killed at the land! Poor Knoxie thought the turkey was sleeping! ha 

We spent the night at the ballpark again! I don't know what we are going to do when the season is over!  The kids have so much fun at the games!

Easter Sunday!  This is the only family picture we got!  Next year I am going to have to try harder to get a better pic!

After church we celebrated Easter with our family at the baseball game! We had a great day! 

Big Boy Beds!

The boys got big beds for their birthday!  I dreaded setting them up but I couldn't put it off any longer!  It was time!  B set them up and I made their beds!  I love how their bedding turned out!  Now I just need to get headboards for them! 

They were so excited to jump in their new beds!  I just hoped they would stay there!

Let's just say it didn't go so well....  They refused to nap in the beds and they were up until almost midnight for like four nights in a row!  

This was a common sight at our house!  Babies falling asleep in random places! 

We've finally gotten into a little bit of a routine.  They still don't sleep as well as they did in their cribs but it's getting better!  They are even napping some days!  I just have to sit in their room until they fall asleep.  That isn't ideal but if it gets them to nap I will do it! 

Update:The big beds were a terrible idea and I completely blame our terrible sleeping habits on these beds! ha 

Kid Quotes Cont...

-Brooks was asking the other two what they were going to be for Halloween while we were riding in the car one day.  He said, "Knox, what are you going to be?" Knox said, "Hulk", Brooks said, "Ava, what are you going to be?" A said, Abbey (She's our 10 year old neighbor A is obsessed with), and when no one asked him what he was going to be he said to himself, "Brooksie, what are you going to be?" and then he said "Fider Man!" ha Love that boy!
-When I ask Ava to do something she says, "Almost" That means she won't do it now but she's almost ready to do it!
-Ava told her speech therapist, "My daddy not nice"  "My mommy not nice either.  Knoxie and Brooksie aren't even nice."  "My Gigi's is nice though" When she asked Ava why we weren't nice (Probably as she was filling out the abuse report)  Ava said, "Well they don't say please.."  She is such a little mess!  What's funny is her therapist gets on to her for not saying please enough! ha
-Brooks was potting and he said, "I need privacy"
- I had my hair down and Brooks said, "Hey mom!  Get your ponytail on!" I asked him why and he said, "Girls like ponytails!"
-Brooks is obsessed with belts and the fact that Brandon was once a boy and he grew up. He said, "I gonna grow into a big boy like dad and wear belts and ride bulls."
-I tried to wake Brooks up and he said, "I want to sleep some morra!  Weave me alone!"
-I was kissing Knox goodnight and I said, "I love you" and then I said, "Wait do you love me?" and he said, "Yes, and daddy, Brooksy, Ava, Gigi, Kiki...." He is the sweetest little boy!
-Brooks always says, "My daddy says no girls allowed and that I get to chew gum..." ha B always gives them gum which infuriates me!
-Brooks told us one day, "My Gigi says you can't spank me!"
-Brooks said, "He's my boy." and pointed to Knox.  Love those boys!
-We were at the pool and one of Ava's little friends said, "Look! They are jumping off the board" and Ava said, "That's just my brother" She was like, who cares about him! ha
-We were at the grape festival and Brooks was riding a motorcycle ride so I blew him a kiss and mouthed "I love you" and he gave me a thumbs up.  I guess he is too cool now to blow me a kiss back!
-Ava was painting pottery and said said, "Gigi is going to love this!" (She was painting a pink pig"
-Brandon told Brooks his hair was gorgeous and he said, "No, it's magical!"
-Brandon calls Knox Chico because he is so tan this summer and Brooks said, "And I'm Cheeto!"
-Brandon took the boys to work with him one day and when they got home Brooks looked at him and said, "Thank you for taking me to work with you dad"  I love this sweet boy!
- I asked Brooks who he liked better.  Me or Brandon and he said, "Daddy, he has a tractor" (B doesn't have a tractor...)
-Knox got in big time trouble and Brooks said, "Stop!  That's my brother!" He went in stood in time out and said, "I'll take time out for Knoxie!"  Brooks is such an angel baby!
-The kids always say, "Daddy goes to work to make moneys" They also say, "Cereals" Everything is plural.
-Brooks was naming all of our hair colors and got to Brandon and he said, "White!" ha
-I was taking a bath and the kids walked in the bathroom and Ava immediately opened her mouth to show me her gum (that she was not suppose to have).   Knox said, "Ava you not pose to tell her!" Ha
-Ava is already a damsel in distress!  She was playing with Brooks and she said, "Help Help!  Save me Spider Man!" ha
-Ava said to Knox, "I'm Miss Lissa (that his speech therapist), let's practice your words!"
-The boys were both really sick and Ava was so jealous she wasn't sick too!  She kept thinking of reasons she needed to go to the doctor.  She fell outside and told B she broke her leg and that she needed to go to the doctor.  He of course told her she was fine and then she came in the house and told me, "I hurt my leg.  Daddy said to take me to the doctor."
-Brooks said, "Next time I see a deer I'm going to go get my gun and shoot it!" (We saw a deer in our neighborhood)
-I told Brooks, "I love you" and he said, "I love my dad" and I said, "Hey!  What about me?" and he said, "You have Ava!" Then sweet angel baby Knox said, "Mom, I love you!"

Say What?

One of the best things about staying home with my kids is that I get to hear every funny thing that comes out of their mouths.  There are lots of funny things...  I try to write down the funniest things in my phone so I will never forget them!  Some of these things might not be funny to you so feel free to skip over this post! 
Oh and the reason most of these quotes are from Brooks' is because the kid never shuts his mouth!  He literally talks all day every day!


-I wouldn't let Ava write all over my planner so she said, "Share mom!  You're not being very nice.  You need a time out!"
-I told Brooks he needed to show Gigi his new haircut and he said, "Wait, where's my new haircut?"  Umm on your head silly!
-Any time I ask them to do something this is the response I get, "3 minutes mom!"  Not two, not one, always three minutes....
-Ava has had a "Frog in her throat" all summer... That's her go-to ailment if she wants to be sick.  I have no clue where she got that.  I've never said that...
-I was eating pecans and Brooks said, "Put the lid on that!  You need to stop eating junk!'
-Out of the blue Brooks said, "My daddy gives me beer!"  If DHS doesn't knock on our door this year it will be a miracle...
-Knox was mumbling about something and Brooks looked at him and said, "What are you even talking about?"
-Coco had a hurt tail and Brooks said, "Who broke he tail?"  "We need to call Super Why and he can call the super readers to fix Coco's tail."
-We had the kids friends over to swim and Brooks gave me a very specific guest list.  He named all of his friends and then he said, "And invite Adam"  Thats Porter and Hudson's daddy.
-Ava can be very dramatic!  She is always telling us someone hurt her.  Usually she groups Brooks and Knox together.  One day she said, "Brooksie hurt me!  Knoxie hurt me!"  She couldn't find a mark so she found a freckle to point to!  That was her battle scar!
-Brooks said, "I have a big ole' tractor!"
-Ava walks in our room every morning bright and early and says, "The suns awake!  Time to get up!"
-Brooks is obsessed with Santa and always wants to talk about what Santa is going to bring him and when he is coming to our house!
-As soon as we pulled in the driveway from the beach Brooks said, "Hey!  Where my friends!" These kids expect a party all of the time! There whole life is a party!
-I always say, "Brooks, don't do that!  You don't want to get in trouble."  He always responds, "I am trouble!"  Where does he learn this stuff?!
-One day Brooks was throwing a fit and Brandon said, "Brooks, I don't play that" and Knox said, "Yeah, we don't play that!"
-Brooks, "Ooh look at those girls!"
-Brooks walked in covered in chocolate that B had given him of course and I said, "What happened to us not eating junk anymore" and he said, "Yeah, I like junk!"
-Every day Brooks wants to go to "Hobby Wobby" That's what he calls Target.  That's our special place to go when the other two are at speech.
-Ava was decked out for a Fourth of July parade and Brooks saw her and said, "Hey!  You look good!"
-Brooks was eating a Popsicle and it was dripping everywhere so he said, "Hey take this" and I said, "Just eat it Brooks" and he said, "I would prefer it if you would put it in the grass." Umm what?  You would prefer it?
-Ava has started saying "That you mom" or "Where's you mom?" Instead of Gigi.  I think she is proud that she finally figured out that Gigi is my mom.
-Brooks has his three songs. Apparently no one else is allowed to sing them.  One day Ava tried to sing one of them and he yelled, "Hey Stop!  You have Let it Go!" ha  That's A's song! ha
-There is a new radio dj called Bobby Bones that they have been advertising lately and out of the blue one day Brooks said, "Hey!  It's the Bobby Bones show! Bobby Bones talking in my car!"  The kid seriously does not miss a thing.
-Brooks said, "Mom, Nick can play baseball like Benny the Jett." ha
-I asked Ava something one day and she put her finger on her chin and said, "Hmm, let me think about that for a second.."
-Knox always says, "Okay mom, okay."  I'm already mom.
-Brooks-"My dad said no girls allowed at the deer camp!"
- I love how Ava says "BrooksieKnoxie" like it's one big word.
-This is the summer of poop.  The boys talk about it constantly and call each other "Poo Poo breath" all of the time.  It drives me crazy.
-Ava picked her nose and I said, "Hey!  Stop that right now!" and she said, "Stop mom!  Bob does it."
-I asked Knox why he slept in our bed every night and he said, "Mom, because I want to!" 
-Ava said, "You have to hold me because I'm little and I'll get hit by a car"
-Ava held Knox's chin and said, "Listen to me Knox!  You be nice!"
-Brooks was up at 4am wandering around our house and turning on all the lights and when I asked him what he was doing he said, "I heard the ice cream man!  You hear him?"
-Knox pooped in the country club pool and everyone had to evacuate the pool (More on that later) Ava said, "Mom, I'm so embarrassed!"
